5 Star Refrigeration is looking for a Staff Accountant This position combines general accounting duties and payroll responsibilities, including support for processing payroll for salaried and hourly employees. The Staff Accountant will collaborate with the Accounting Manager, Manager of Administration, and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial records. Success in this role demands a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can handle sensitive information with diplomacy and confidentiality. Key Responsibilities: - Assist with preparation and recording of monthly journal entries by compiling and analyzing account information - Work with the Accounting Manager to execute monthly, quarterly, and annual closings - Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts - Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and other issues to bring to management’s attention - Assist with the preparation of accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with the established month-end close schedule - Assist in calculation and filing of sales tax for multiple states - Support internal and external audit processes - Help maintain control ov...
