Position Summary: This Derivative Trader executes energy derivative instruments as they relate to inventory management and storage hedging . Includes, but not limited to, Crude, Gasoline, Diesel, Natural Gas, and related Agricultural products. Serves as a resource to management and physical traders on paper markets given corporate risk profile . Performs ad hoc analysis for energy related commodities . Serves on teams that serve cross functional activities. Performs back up execution on energy commodities. Key Responsibilities: Develops and implements negotiating tactics to complement planned sales/supply strategies and to increase the efficiency of such activities. Continuously reviews market conditions and the short- and medium-term supply and sales plans; recommends and implements changes to the plan to optimize overall value to MPC (product yield shifts, sales channel shifts, import/export changes, etc.).
