Job Description: Title: Certified Medication Aide Job Code: 00204XX Division: Senior Living Status: Non-Exempt Reports to: Charge Nurse/Unit Manager Revision date: March 2019 Supervises: n/a PURPOSE: According to the prescribed policies and procedures of the organization including all applicable federal, state and local regulations and under the general supervision of the Charge Nurse/Unit Manager, the purpose of this position is to administer approved medications as prescribed by the resident’s physician and document the administration and effectiveness of the medications. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Per the delegation of the nurse, utilizes the Six Rights of Medication Administration and accurately records the administration of medications for residents as prescribed by the physician. Notifies the nurse immediately if a medication error occurs. - Observes and reports to the nurse, symptoms and conditions of residents that could be related to medication interactions, adverse drug reactions or medication side effects. - Determines and records effectiveness of medications in a timely and accurate manner as required by state and federal regulations. - Stores medications in a safe and accu...
