Design Engineer

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Solar PV Designer to join our growing engineering team, responsible for the design and optimisation of utility-scale solar farms and commercial & industrial (C&I) rooftop/ground-mounted solar projects. The successful candidate will play a lead role in developing technically sound, cost-effective, and compliant PV system designs from feasibility through to construction, assisting in establishing and leading a broader design team required to support a strong pipeline of projects. This role requires strong technical expertise in PV system design and knowledge of Ireland and UK grid connection standards, the ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, contractors, and regulatory authorities and leadership experience in developing and mentoring team members. Requirements: Preferred: - Develop detailed PV system designs for utility-scale solar farms and C&I installations (rooftop, ground-mounted, carports). - Prepare layout drawings, single line diagrams (SLDs), and electrical schematics using industry-standard software (AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope, etc.). - Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, shading analysis,...
