Description Summary: The Medical Assistant in Family Medicine functions as an important member of the healthcare team by providing basic clinical, clerical, and technical support to assist providers in planning for patients’ care, comfort, and safety. The Medical Assistant performs in a manner consistent with MN Women’s Care mission, policies, and initiatives while always maintaining patient confidentiality. Essential Functions and Qualifications: - Punctuality and adherence to schedule is a must. - Completion of a Medical Assistant program from an accredited institute. - Medical Assistant program diploma. - Certification is required (CMA) (RMA) (CCMA) - Knowledge of medical terminology. - Ability to lift 25 pounds. - Ability to work at a computer for extended periods. - Ability to work in an upright, standing position for extended periods. - Manual dexterity. - Work is performed in a medical office setting using standard medical equipment. - The risk of exposure to blood and body fluids is present.
