St. Luke’s School, a secular (non-religious), college-preparatory day school serving grades 5 through 12 in New Canaan, Connecticut, seeks a Math Tutor. The Math Tutoring program matches students who need additional support in their SLS math classes with an on-campus Math Tutor for tutoring sessions during the school day. The program typically provides support for students from middle school math through Algebra II. Typically, Tutors meet with 2-3 students per day, Monday-Friday. Responsibilities: - Provide review and reteaching of material that students may have learned before but have not retained fully - Provide extra help for students with homework and quiz/test preparation - Document each tutoring session in a Google doc shared with the student’s SLS Math Teacher - Communicate with parents as needed Key Skills and Qualities: - 2 years of experience as a Math teacher or tutor - Interest and experience in working with adolescents - Bachelors degree in Mathematics or related field Compensation & Schedule: - This is an independent contractor role and not eligible for employee benefits. - Compensation is $175 per 60-minute tutoring session - Schedule: Each tutor’s schedule is creat...
