Gastroenterologist: Physician Scientist

Job description

The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology in the Department of Medicine at Stanford University seeks a gastroenterologist to join the Division as Assistant or Associate Professor in the University Medical Line (UML). The Division has had a long track record of wet-bench research in gastroenterology and hepatology. We are particularly interested in enhancing our scientific portfolio with up to two translational researchers to carry on the Division’s scientific mission. The scope of the investigative interest of the researcher is broad, with respect to organ specificity (or lack thereof), scientific discipline, or methodological expertise. The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the University Medical Line shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. Faculty rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
