Senior Editor, Video Podcasts (Supervisory)

Job description

The Atlantic is looking for a Senior Editor to oversee the team making a new video podcast hosted by David Brooks. The podcast will explore the moral, social, and philosophical underpinnings of human decency—with a particular focus on the role that institutions play in shaping communities and ideologies. We are looking for someone who can creatively engage on these ideas and who will ensure we are meeting high editorial and video production standards. They will be responsible for working with David to conceptualize episodes, and they will manage a team of two producers and provide direct editing support on episodes. Candidates should be deeply curious and excited about the evolution of video podcasts, and want to be engaged in this expanding format. This person will report to The Atlantic ’s senior supervising editor. The role will at times include night, early-morning, and weekend work.
