Job Summary: Responsible for directing, supervising, and coordinating the duties of office and field personnel in the safe installation, operation, maintenance, reading, connecting, and disconnecting of meters and metering equipment on all end-use customers as well as metering equipment for distribution, transmission, and station facilities. Duties include the acquisition of meters and maintenance of appropriate meter stock inventories, installation and proper operation of distribution control equipment, testing of meters according to AEP standards and state regulatory group standards, reading of meters via a handheld/electronic system for all energy usage as load research customers, implementation of security sealing procedures, providing meter training programs for assigned personnel and others performing work on customer meter installations, and maintenance of meter records for the assigned operating company.
