EMS District Chief

Job description

The EMS District Chief is an essential leadership position accountable for the oversight and direction of all on duty (18-30) EMS field staff. Works with and engages York County based public safety personnel (18 Fire departments, 7 Police departments & 3 Rescue Squads, 911 and EMA) involved in the support or delivery of emergency medical care. EMS District Chiefs work a rotating 12-hour schedule as part of the daily EMS System deployment. It is the expectation that the EMS District Chief will exemplify the highest professional standards and continuously foster an enriching, supportive and dynamic team environment. The EMS District Chief directs field operations and coordinates emergency medical personnel and resources to assure provision of high performance emergency medical services throughout York County. The EMS District Chief administers basic and advanced life support procedures to patients at the accident or illness scene, and if needed, may provide additional clinical assistance to EMS crews during the transport of high acuity patients.
