YAI's day programs are designed to assist people to acquire, retain or improve their self-help, socialization and adaptive skills, including communication, travel and other areas in adult education. Activities and environments are designed to foster the development of life skills, and adaptation to appropriate social behavior; all to achieve greater independence. The day program focuses on community inclusion through volunteer work, healthy relationship building, promoting self-advocacy and making informed decision.
