Job Title: Surgical Technologist Department: OR Location: Rochester General Hospital Hours Per Week: 40 hours per week Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7-3:30; 3-11:30; 11-7:30 On Call: 1-2 shifts per month Saturday and/or Sunday 7a-7p Specialty services 24/7 on call. Weekend: 2 shifts per month: SUMMARY: The Surgical Technologist plays a vital role as a key member of the surgical team, serving as the primary scrub technologist during procedures. This individual is responsible for preparing, organizing, and managing surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment to ensure efficient and safe operations. The Surgical Technologist maintains strict adherence to sterile techniques and demonstrates continuous attention to preserving the integrity of the sterile field throughout each procedure. RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain a minimum of 15 Continuing Medical Education hours annually. Prepare and check instruments, equipment, and supplies for surgical procedures. Set up and maintain a sterile field, following strict aseptic techniques. Assist with patient draping and ensure the surgical team is properly attired.
