Job DetailsJob Location: Liberty, SC 29657Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: 2 Year DegreeJob Shift: 1stJob Category: ManufacturingJOB SUMMARY The Process Control Engineer is responsible for establishing and documenting the optimum casting, trim, and peripheral equipment settings and adjustments necessary to produce quality aluminum die castings in accordance with control plans and production requirements. This position will also train others in setup techniques and troubleshooting of casting problems. Reports to: Die Cast Manager: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Define the optimum setup of new and existing dies, including factors such as metal pressure, cavity fill rate & time, sleeve sizing, projected area, gate velocity, machine tonnage requirements, gating and runnering, temperatures, machine capabilities vs. tool requirements, shortest cycle time, lowest scrap, and other variables. Use shot monitoring equipment to document processes and troubleshoot casting problems. Produce detailed documentation of processes and verify that documented processes are repeatable.
