POSITION OVERVIEW: We are looking for motivated students with a strong interest in biodiversity and the mining industry. In our internship program, you will receive important industry training and get involved in meaningful real-world projects like planning a program, designing a process, or implementing technology. The culmination of your program will include an opportunity to present your work to management at ASARCO & Grupo Mexico. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Support the development biodiversity management plans for Sonoran Desert riparian environment and plan for restoring environment to native conditions - Strong understanding of the flora and fauna of the Sonoran Desert especially in riparian habitats. - Awareness of the Endangered Species Act and ability to identify endangered species - Ability to work with internal and external interested parties such as community members, neighboring landowners, public land managers, employees, etc… - Basic understand of public and private land management practices - Ability to collect soil, water, air, and biological matter sampling and have an understanding of environmental sampling best practices - Ability to use and wear personal protective...
