Regional Medical Director,CMC - O'Daniel Unit - ( 2601730 ) Description The mission of Correctional Managed Care is to address the healthcare needs of underserved patient populations within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) and the Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD). JOB SUMMARY: Serves as medical director for a number of correctional facilities within a designated region. Provides professional services related to diagnosis and treatment of inmate patients and of employees injured as a result of TDCJ-ID work related activities. Ensures that appropriate healthcare is accessible and provided to the inmate population in a timely fashion. Renders final medical judgment regarding care provided to designated inmates according to Health Services Policies and Procedures. Directs all Health Services activities within the region and assumes ultimate responsibility for all medical providers assigned within the region. Works under the director of the senior medical director.
