RESPONSIBILITIES: - Must have a valid Province of Ontario Certificate of Qualification as a Second Class Stationary Engineer - Knowledge of automated and computer processes i.e. building management and pneumatic tuble handling systems - The ability to assess mechanical malfunctions and enact solutions independently - A total of 36 months experience in various size steam plants, with a minimum of 24 months in a plant carrying a rating no lower than the rating of the SJHH Charlton plant at the time of hiring - Must be able to troubleshoot malfunctions as needed - Precise movement required in the operation of pumps, gauges, boilers, heating units, hand tools, refrigeration and ventilation equipment, plumbing fixtures, steam-distribution systems, computerized building automation system, and other hospital equipment - Good work performance and attendance record are essential Some responsibilities include the following: - Operates and maintains equipment in the Steam Plant and fan rooms, such as boilers, compressors, pumps, refrigeration and air conditioning equipment, auxiliary diesel, electrical power unit and supply system and exhaust fans throughout the hospital complex - Monitors an...
