Job Description The Hauf Lab at Virginia Tech (www.hauflab.org) is looking for a 1500-hr wage research technician to help with cloning and yeast strain construction for all our projects. Our lab studies gene expression regulation that is important to properly execute the cell cycle. Techniques will include PCR, cloning, bacteria and yeast transformations, CRISPR/Cas9-mediated genome editing of yeast, and fluorescence microscopy. This position is restricted to 6 - 12 months, and is ideal for someone who seeks additional training and experience in laboratory techniques before moving on to graduate school or an industry position. Some prior experience with molecular biology and excellent organizational skills are required. The minimum time commitment will be 15 hours/week.
