Description Merchants Metals is searching for a Class B CDL Driver to make daily local runs to contractors and runs to suppliers. In addition, the driver will also assist with warehouse and yard activities. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Perform all duties per company policies and procedures and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations for safe commercial motor vehicle operations. - Maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations, including driver’s record of duty status, mileage records, and other records required by law. - Travel to local areas, make deliveries to businesses and residences and apply knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicles at varying speeds in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic and inclement weather. This includes going forward and backing up long distances, around corners, and in and around tight areas. May travel long distances. - Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on vehicles and trailers to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order and maintain logs of vehicle services and repair status. - Follow company reporting pr...
