Since 2020, Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute (HHI) has worked with United Nations partners (including ITU, WMO, and UNEP) to support the development of international standards for the use (and development of policy around) AI in disaster management. In parallel, Fraunhofer HHI is contributing to the Working Group on Digital Transformation for Hydrology and Water Resources at the World Meteorological Organization. In addition to standardization efforts, Fraunhofer HHI plays an important role in several research projects related to this topic, including the Horizon Europe funded MedEWSa project and the ARTEMIS project. To support the communication of these important efforts and to forge stronger links between the research coming from the Artificial Intelligence Department (particularly in this area of application) and the outreach work of the Communications Department, an expert is sought.
