Overview Perform routine maintenance requirements on a fleet of tugs and barges as directed by the General Manager/Port Engineer. Perform inspections of vessels for repair & maintenance standards and procedures. Work with company mechanics as needed. Responsibilities: - Repair marine equipment on site under adverse conditions at all hours. - Maintain the confidentiality of all sensitive communications. - Required to work aboard boats and barges using winches and mechanical tools for repairs. - Frequently required to board tugs, barges, and ships, at dock or at anchor at all hours. - Perform related duties as assigned. Qualifications: - Knowledge of Cummins, Caterpillar, John Deere Engines. - Knowledge of Twin Disc gears, Barge pumps, PTO’s. - Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical systems and components. - Knowledge of the oil transportation and maritime industry. - Knowledge of tug and barge maintenance systems and equipment. - Work well with others using courtesy, tact, and good judgment. - Must be physically fit enough to board barges and tugs at sea and in port in all weather conditions. - Ability to understand and execute complex oral and written instructions. - Ability...
