Job description

Overview Maintains established standards of care, policies, objective, and goals in administering professional nursing care to all patients needing Emergency Services. Responsibilities: - Assesses patients, implements department protocols and provides appropriate nursing interventions and on-going assessment. Implements life support procedures in emergency situation. - Actively facilitates patient flow in the department. - Promotes cost consciousness by directing patients to D/C area for collections and using supplies wisely. - Treats all patients, families, co-workers and physicians in a customer friendly manner, actively giving information to patient and family, providing comfort measures, maintaining clean work environment and calling patients for follow up as assigned. - Maintains accurate records, legibly documents and reports patient care and charges, time of triage, time placed on bed, and time discharged from Emergency Services. - Documents and discharges patients giving appropriate teaching information and referrals. - Maintains up-to-date knowledge of emergency nursing procedures and equipment, medication administered in the department, nursing trends, practices and legal...
