Overview Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota, seeks to hire a Custodian for the 1st shift to provide all the cleaning, waste, and recyclable removal services, snow clearing of all entrances, carpeting and hard floor maintenance, and other traditional tasks as needed. 1st Shift Monday to Friday 4:30am to 1:00pm (40 hours per week) Compensation: The beginning rate of pay for this position is $20.00/hour (6 month probationary period). After the probationary period the compensation will increase to $21.00/hour. At this time the position will also become a union position. After 1 year from the date of hire, the hourly wage will vary based on the shift and current union contract (estimated at 25.36/hr) This is a union position if a regular position is offered/accepted during the 6 month probationary period, the successful candidate will be required to join the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local Number 70.
