(DOE) Pay Band: 3: Agency: Dept Behavioral Health/Develop: Location: Northern VA Mental Health Inst Agency Website: https://dbhds.virginia.gov/facilities/nvmhi/careers/: Recruitment Type: General Public - G Job Duties: We are seeking a Full-Time Day Shift Security Officer with Shift Differential for week days, weekends and holidays in order to protect hospital-controlled properties and equipment and provide a safe and secure environment for Northern Virginia Mental Health Institute (NVMHI). This position patrols the facilities grounds and buildings ensuring the areas are secure and that safety issues are addressed. It supports activities of the facilities such as responding to behavioral emergencies, escorting individuals we serve on Special Hospitalizations, patrol nursing unit every 15 minutes, processing electronic fingerprinting, ensuring equipment temperatures are functioning properly, responding to alarms, supporting emergency management programs, transporting individuals, and providing support to the switchboard/reception.
