Job Description: JOB SUMMARY Learns the basic skills necessary to become functional in the skills of a call taker. Since this is a position of learning, an employee in this class may not remain in this position beyond their first year of employment. The employee must progress to a 9-1-1 Telecommunicator II. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Work is performed under the general supervision of the 9-1-1 Communications Supervisor. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Efficiently operates the computer systems, telephone systems, and radio equipment in a timely manner while working in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
