Job description

At Mahaska Health a Radiologic Technologist provides patient care and technical skill in the operation of diagnostic radiographic equipment for diagnostic and evaluation purposes. Hours: Full-time (Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm) Full-time (Tuesday - Friday 7:30am - 6:00pm) Essential job duties include, but are not limited to; - Prepares patients for radiographic procedures by accurately assessing patients’ needs and providing patient education and proper positioning according to the department procedure manual. - Practices safety measures in radiography including protecting patients from excessive radiation during examinations. - Documents pregnancy status. - Confirms patient identification by two patient identifiers. - Checks for proper orders, lab results, signed informed consents, and patient preps for all radiology procedures. - Administers contrast media i.e., orally, IV, rectally under the supervision of a provider. - Documents type of IV contrast media, amount, date, and time of administration. - Performs CT procedures as required by department workflow. - Performs surgical and portable examinations as assigned. - Practices sterile techniques and prevents cross-contaminati...
