Job Title: Part-Time Diesel Mechanic Starting Pay: $30.78/hour FLSA: Non-exempt Positions Available: 8 part-time openings Hours: Up to 28 hours per week Position Overview Part-Time Diesel Mechanics are responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing MATA’s fleet of diesel and gasoline-powered buses and support vehicles. This position plays a vital role in ensuring vehicles are maintained to the highest standards of safety and performance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Diagnose and repair diesel and gasoline engines, transmissions, generators, and related systems. - Inspect, repair, and replace engine and body components such as door engines, electrical units, seats, and wheelchair lifts. - Rebuild mechanical systems and components, including brakes, alternators, and differentials. - Perform road calls using service vehicles or wreckers as needed. - Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and manuals. - Maintain accurate maintenance records, work cards, and repair orders. - Adhere to all safety standards and MATA’s Drug and Alcohol Policy.
