Product Development Technician II

Job description

The Product Development Technician is responsible for completing technical and lab work independently with minimal direction from a chemist or supervisor. The Product Development Technician will work to develop an area of responsibility and specialization through on the job related training. As a contributor to product development or product support teams, the Product Development Technician will be responsible, under minimal supervision, for supporting lab prototyping, testing, data analysis, and scale-up trials. Qualifications: - Prepare and mix coating formulations using laboratory mixing equipment. - Perform drawdowns of formulations using drawdown and drying equipment. - Test material properties and performance of coatings, adhesives and films. - Compile results and document in laboratory electronic notebook. - Analyze data and communicate results to professional staff. - Assist the chemist in preparing for pilot scale coating trials. - Perform all work in compliance with laboratory environmental, health and safety rules. - Adhere to Brady’s Safety, Attendance & other Company policies. - Perform all other duties as assigned.
