Job Description The New York City Department of Transportation (NYC DOT) is seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled writer to serve as an Elected Official Correspondence Liaison within the Commissioner’s Correspondence Unit. The selected candidate will play a critical role in managing written communications on behalf of the Commissioner, ensuring timely, accurate, and policy-aligned responses to inquiries from elected officials and the public. Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: matter experts. - Drafting and coordinating timely responses to correspondence from elected officials for the Commissioner’s signature, incorporating research and input from NYC DOT divisions and subject - Ensuring all outgoing correspondence is clear, concise, professional, and aligned with the Commissioner’s communication style and NYC DOT editorial standards. - Researching, drafting, and revising acknowledgment letters and emails in response to constituent inquiries submitted through webforms and other channels. - Preparing customized, high-priority responses addressing sensitive issues, including traffic fatalities, crashes, pedestrian and cyclist injuries, and other urgent public...
