Company Description Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Yard Hostler is responsible for ensuring that trailers are moved within our yard in a safe and efficient manner by utilizing a Terminal Tractor. Yard Hostler is also responsible for yard management, good housekeeping, and ensuring that yard rules/standards are being adhered to. Job Description: SAFETY: Ensure effective and safe use of all equipment and PPE (personal protective equipment) as needed Complete pre-trip inspections and maintain energy source for Terminal Tractor and other equipment as needed Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures provided by the company or any regulatory entities Safely operate a Terminal Tractor to move trailers in and out of the dock doors and parking stalls OPERATIONAL PROCESS: Maintain trailers by inspecting to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order Performing trailer inventory checks and yard audits Ensure quality by maintaining records, logs and forms, including any forms required by the company and any other regulatory entity (i.e., Pre trip inspection sheets) Perform other duties as assigned, inclu...
