Compensation Range $72,696.00 - $98,134.40 Job Description Summary: The Planner I position is the trainee level for the professional planner series. Incumbents initially work under general supervision and as experience is gained, they perform a broader range of duties. Planner I is charged with overseeing the current land use development cases that do not require as much experience and ensuring they are processed in accordance with County regulations. This position will also be heavily involved in customer service, process interpretation, project permitting, and long-range planning support. Other duties may include various research activities, including gathering information for use in developing projection of needs, usages and impacts, analyzing needs for services, preparing graphic presentations and comprehensive reports on community characteristics related to planning, zoning, preparing narrative and visual reports and making recommendations on research findings, updating planning and zoning maps, and preparing materials for and aiding in the administration of various boards and commissions.
