Job description

1. Supervises environmental services staff and operations and ensures cleanliness of all areas of the hospital. 2. Enforces policies for the department as instructed by the Director. 3. Inspects and evaluates the physical condition of the facility; recommends repairs, improves the sanitation, appearance and efficiency. 4. Uses independent judgement to ensure clean, orderly and attractive conditions of the facility. 5. Responsible for keeping staff trained. 6. Monitors infection control standards and medical waste management practices as they relate to environmental services. 7. Ensures staff properly cleans and disinfects patient/non-patient areas daily using the correct products to ensure proper disinfection. 8. Ensures staff cleans, stocks, and disinfects restrooms in all areas of the hospital. 9. Ensures floors are properly stripped, waxed and buffed on the established schedule. 10. Ensures staff vacuums, dust mop and wet mop and damp dust all equipment, tables, beds, cabinets and other furniture in assigned patient/non-patient areas. 11.
