Safety Supervisor

Job description

The Safety Supervisor oversees environmental compliance, industrial hygiene, occupational health, and safety programs. Functions as the environmental representative responsible for oversight of waste minimization, waste reduction, hazardous waste management, pollution prevention, permit/regulatory compliance, and may include approval authority for all hazardous material requests. Other duties include: Acts as a representative for the Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health (ESOH) program. Reviews and provide guidance for the Hazardous Materials Reduction Prioritization Process and ozone depleting substances (ODS). Reviews ESOH initiatives and projects. Conducts safety and environmental inspections, audits, and surveys. Reviews and provide guidance for corrective actions for all inspections, audits, and surveys. Assists in the development of environmental policies and directives. Understands and ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental laws. Conducts opportunity assessments identifying hazardous waste materials reduction prioritization opportunities. Analyze and justify the money needed for projects.
