MO-SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital - Lake Saint Louis Worker Type: Regular Job Summary: Provides direct patient care to cardiac and pulmonary rehab patients including various types of monitoring, education and therapeutic exercise programs. Job Responsibilities and Requirements: PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. - Assesses patient needs daily through chart review, unit nurses or cardiac nurse, physicians and interdisciplinary team. - Provides exercise prescription for patients utilizing test data, patient status and current medication regimen; updates prescription according to the patient's response. - Schedules and coordinates patient assessment, testing, results reporting, treatment and follow up as needed. - Assesses hemodynamic response and patient tolerance to activity progression and utilizes information to provide appropriate exercise prescription. - Performs appropriate documentation of monitored ambulation, education and discharge planning per departmental policies, guidelines and practices as pertinent for setting. - Participates in routine maintenance and calibration of the test equipm...
