Job description

The Auto Damage Appraiser is responsible for inspecting vehicle damage, preparing accurate repair estimates, and negotiating claim settlements along the Connecticut shoreline (I-95 corridor from New Haven to Stamford/Greenwich). This is a field-based role requiring daily travel, strong customer service skills, and the ability to work independently while managing claim costs effectively. Responsibilities: - Inspect vehicle damage and prepare detailed repair estimates - Negotiate and settle partial and total loss claims within authority limits - Issue payments to appropriate parties - Maintain accurate and timely claim documentation - Complete re-inspections and supplemental estimates in compliance with state regulations - Serve as a liaison with body shops in the network - Ensure adherence to estimating guidelines, production standards, and expense control measures - Deliver excellent customer service and maintain strong public relations - Handle recovered theft and fire claim reports - Participate in team meetings and catastrophe (CAT) response when needed, including travel Qualifications: - Valid Connecticut Auto Damage Appraiser License (required) - 1–3 years of auto appraisal or...
