Employment Type: Full time Shift: Day Shift Description: Job Title : Inpatient Diabetes Care Specialist Department: Clinical and Professional Development: Shift: 1st Shift: Status: .8 (32 hours a week) POSITION PURPOSE: The Inpatient Diabetes Care Specialist is responsible for coordinating and optimizing diabetes education and management for hospitalized patients and staff. This role leads the implementation, oversight and management of the GlucoStabilizer program and other diabetes related initiatives to ensure safe, and effective glycemic management. The specialist collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to improve clinical outcomes, enhance patient safety, and support evidence-based diabetes care practices for the MercyOne Genesis Health System. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Trinity Health and MercyOne Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions. 2. Serves as subject matter expert on diabetes care management, including staff education, troubleshooting and workflow integration with diabetes technology. 3.
