Core Construction Oversight Responsibilities Monitors field activities of contractors, tracks construction progress, and documents work conditions and performance. Ensures current drawings and plans are available each day to field supervisors, inspectors and superintendent. Identify and verifies required remediation activities for any non-conforming work. Assists in evaluating the validity of claims and differing site conditions. For this type of work, having at least some geotechnical expertise (or understanding) is essential. Oversees construction safety and notifies contractor supervision of unsafe practices or conditions. Reviews look-ahead schedules with contractor staff, project management, and stakeholders to confirm upcoming work activities; testing and inspection requirements; equipment and resource needs; and coordination with adjacent work and other parties. Manages oversight of construction activities through project completion and closeout, ensuring alignment with contract requirements and Owner’s policies.
