Overview Department: Obstetrics & Gynecology: Schedule: Nights, 7:00pm-7:30am, 12-hour shifts: Hospital: Resurrection Medical Center: Location: Chicago, IL 60631: Responsibilities: The OB Technician performs a variety of patient care and clerical duties to assist and support the organization and function of the Labor/Delivery/Recovery/Postpartum (LDRP). Works cooperatively with and under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. Provides direct care to patient of various ages (neonate, adolescent, adult). Interacts with physicians, patients, families/significant others, hospital staff and community agencies in providing basic care. Is responsible for completion and processing of the birth certificates, and “Declaration of Paternity” forms. Qualifications: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING: 1. High School Diploma or Equivalent 2. BLS Certification within 30 days and maintain current 3. Successful completion of a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, EMT, ROP, Paramedic Training Program, Certified Surgical Scrub Technician or equivalent required.
