Location/Department: Oncology Part time - 48 hours per pay period Job Summary: Provides direct nursing care to each patient as needed in assigned area & access individual needs of the patient & the family members. Provide quality patient care & educational needs in accordance with physician instructions, hospital policies, nursing skills & practices that have been established. Administers all chemotherapeutic treatments given to patients under the direction of the physician. Performs venipuncture for blood transfusions, IV infusions, lab tests, etc, as designated. Duties/Responsibilities: - Demonstrates a fundamental knowledge of cancer disease processes, complications, drug treatments & side effects. - Works with the Nurse Navigator, Patient Support Coordinator & oncology team to identify patients that need assistance with barriers such as lack of insurance, financial issues, disability needs, need for personal support, language barriers, & any other problems that may arise during cancer treatment. - Provide education on disease, treatment, & symptom management to cancer patients as needed - Assists physician during examinations, procedures & treatments. - Coordinates patient care...
