This recruitment will be used to build an Eligibility List for the Conveyance & Distribution Section at the following locations: Diamond Valley Lake (Winchester, CA), Diemer (Yorba Linda, CA), Jensen (Granada Hills, CA), Lake Skinner (Winchester, CA), Lake Mathews (Riverside, CA), Soto Street (Los Angeles, CA), and Weymouth (La Verne, CA). This list will be valid for 6 months from the date a candidate accepts the position. The Metropolitan Water District's Conveyance & Distribution Group has two openings: one opening (1) located at the Diemer Treatment Facility (Yorba Linda, CA) and one (1) opening located at the Soto Street Facility (Los Angeles, CA). As an Operations & Maintenance Technician IV – Mechanical you will install, maintain, and repair a wide range of water utility facilities and equipment. In this journey-level position, you will monitor and inspect mechanical equipment to ensure reliability, perform predictive and diagnostic testing, and conduct preventive and corrective maintenance.
