Position Summary Conemaugh River Lake, completed in 1952 by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), is a vital flood control project in Indiana and Westmoreland Counties, Pennsylvania. Its primary goals are to provide flood risk reduction for the Conemaugh, Kiski, lower Allegheny, and upper Ohio River valleys. Additionally, the lake offers recreational opportunities such as biking, hiking, fishing, and picnic areas. Interns may be engaged in dam operations, managing recreational facilities, monitoring water quality, and performing environmental stewardship.
