Job description

Responsible for direction and management responsibility over the business and operational activities of a department or medical care unit. The Director of Operations in the Department of Genetics and Genomic Sciences is responsible for ensuring that clear research operations goals and objectives are established, monitor performance of the Operations team, and prioritize space and lab safety initiatives. - Manage and oversee the Operations and Project Management teams to ensure quality and timely management of all infrastructure, administrative, and research needs for the overall Department. - Act as the Designated Safety officer by providing oversight to the department regarding general safety in the laboratories. Maintain familiarity with the contents of the Chemical Hygiene Plan template and assist Faculty and their designated laboratory safety officers with fulfilling the requirements of the Chemical Hygiene Plan and the FDNY (Certificate of Fitness-C14).
