Overview This position is located at Mount Ascutney hospital in Windsor, VT. Wednesday-Sunday, 11pm-7am. Night Shift differential: 20%. Weekend Shift differential: 15%. DH benefits start the first day of employment. Responsible for the safety and well-being of patients, visitors, staff, facilities and hospital property Responsibilities: - Patrols all areas of their assigned facility looking for illegal/inappropriate activity and security/safety concerns. Proactively provides information, assistance and guidance to patients, visitors, and staff. - Conducts internal and external rounds/patrols to ensure the safety and security of the facility, property, and occupants. - Responds to, and investigates security incidents. Ensures all incidents and activities are appropriately documented and recorded. - Assists nursing units, clinical care areas, and other departments with uncooperative, combative or violent patients and visitors. Effectively de-escalates situations and uses the appropriate AVADE techniques. - Provides patient watch activities to prevent elopement or injury to self/others. - At the direction of the medical staff, applies restraints.
