Newport News, Virginia Overview: Provides advanced clinical oversight of specialty medication therapy to ensure safe, effective, and evidence-based treatment. Applies pharmacotherapy expertise to medication therapy management, patient assessment, and adherence support to optimize outcomes for patients receiving complex therapies. Partners closely with providers, nursing, and pharmacy teams to support therapy selection, monitoring, and timely medication access, while providing clinical guidance and oversight for pharmacy technicians involved in medication preparation and dispensing. Maintains responsibility for inventory oversight, staff development, and adherence to accreditation standards, as well as state and federal laws and regulations governing specialty pharmacy practice. What you will do: - Assesses, implements, and evaluates pharmaceutical care that contributes to the physiological and psychosocial outcomes and stability of the patient. Monitors, screens, and verifies all specialty medication and chemotherapy treatment plans for accurate dose, indication, route, treatment parameters, and administrative schedule.
