Job Purpose To practice in an advanced role to provide developmentally and age-appropriate Palliative Care services to patients and families both inpatient and in the ambulatory setting at Texas Children's. The nurse practitioner (NP) will work under a delineation of clinical privileges and work collaboratively with other members of the interdisciplinary health care team. Practicing under established guidelines and clinical protocols, the NP assumes independent and interdependent responsibilities in the assessment, diagnosis and initiation of treatment and procedures to meet patient and family needs. As an advanced practice nurse, the NP is responsible for education, research, consultation and evaluation of clinical practice at various levels. Job Duties: - Provide age-appropriate care for one or more of the following age groups routinely: Neonate, Infant, Child, Adolescent, Adult. - Collect and evaluate health assessment data to provide appropriate palliative interventions. - Consistently demonstrate effective communication skills and work to eliminate communication barriers. - Participate in departmental quality, education and safety initiatives on an ongoing basis. - Consistentl...
