Job description

Craft: Pipe Reports to: Foreman Exempt Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly) Position Objective/Description: Performs a variety of manual construction tasks under the direction of a crew foreman. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Install or use instruments such as lasers, grade rods, or transit levels. - Cut pipes to required lengths. - Connect pipe pieces and seal joints, using welding equipment, cement, or glue. - Cover pipes with earth or other materials. - Install or repair sanitary or storm water sewer structures or pipe systems - Performs a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in heavy/highway construction projects - Work site set up, maintenance, and cleanup, to include scaffolding construction and dismantling, barricade locating, and equipment locating. - Load, unload, or distribute materials, machinery, or tools to and from designated locations - Direct traffic at or near building sites and carry out other traffic management activities - Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, or compact and level earth - Use picks, shovels, and rakes to level earth or asphalt to grade specifications - Position or dismantle forms for pouring concrete, using saws, hammers,...
