Registered Nurse (T&RC) - Perioperative Pre-Operative Services Outpatient Full-Time Day Shift Position Summary: At Stony Brook Medicine, our Registered Nurses are critical members of the team who diagnose and treat responses to actual or potential health problems by means of nursing methods and techniques such as case finding, health teaching and counseling. Incumbents provide care supportive to and restorative of health and well-being, while adhering to a medical regimen. Our preoperative Services help prepare patients for a successful and safe hospital experience. The Pre-operative team works with patients to identify and modify risk factors to ensure the best possible outcome and to prevent last minute delays and cancellation of surgery. Our Perioperative Nurses are responsible for collecting patient information, consults/clearances, consents, and test results for delivery to the operating room staff.
