Transportation/Distribution Manager

Job description

Oversee all labor and trucking resources for transportation and delivery of refrigerated product to northern New England customers. Develop structures, route strategies, and programs in support of an effective transportation plan. Job Duties and Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain a strong, cohesive, and collaborative team of supervisors that are accountable, firm, and fair with their subordinates and work collaboratively with supervisory peers in other departments. - Drive a safety culture that ensures safety is the first priority each and every day. Support that objective with detailed oversight, timely behavioral coaching, leading safety objectives and effective use of driver safety systems to achieve operational excellence. - Develop and refine efficient management procedures, structure and job aids to drive efficiency and consistency throughout leadership to front-line employees. - Develop annual goals and maintain management metrics that measure a variety of indicators such as labor costs, fuel usage, service times, sequence adherence, and fulfillment accuracy. - Evaluate and improve plan vs. actual measures to drive on-time delivery fulfillment and optimization. - Monit...
