Position Summary General Foreman Structural Steel will oversee and manage iron and structural steel crews that construct iron/steel structures to specifications. Qualification Highlights: Must have 4+ years of experience as a Structural Ironworker, and 2+ years in a supervisory position. Must possess all Knowledge Skills and Abilities for positions (see below). Must be able to meet all physical requirements. Must be able to work at heights more than 300 ft. Must have reliable transportation. Position Responsibilities: Read blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work: locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required. Identify all tools required for tasks. Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks. Manage multiple crews regarding scheduling, processes and sequences, time, and cost. Illustrate in-depth knowledge of all iron/steel processes. Hoist equipment and tools into a location via bull rigging or crane. Verify vertical and horizontal alignment of structural-steel members, using plumb bobs, laser equipment, transits, and/or levels.
