Highlights of the job We are hiring a Full Time Permanent Utility Worker in Training, I, II, or I II , performing skilled work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of the water distribution systems. This position reports to our AFOC office in El Mirage, AZ. What you’d be responsible for: - Repair and maintain fire hydrants, main line valves, water service lines, water mains, water meters and fittings, installation of new water services, water system flushing, water quality sampling, flow testing, traffic control, and preventative maintenance activities e.g. valve exercising and fire hydrant inspections. - Provide assistance to Field Customer Service Representative, meter reading, Line Locator and collections systems when needed to backfill due to absences. - Performs other work as required. What’s required to be successful: - Candidate must have thorough understanding of water distribution, and wastewater collection systems. - Must have knowledge of use of tools and equipment used in the water and wastewater field - Computer literacy and proficiency required for completing service orders in customer information system. - Ability to complete reports legibly and accurately on...
