TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE & SUPERVISION OPPORTUNITIES: Interns will learn specific skills and knowledge directly relating to the practice of mental health and substance use counseling under the direction of a clinical supervisor/coordinators Interns will transfer the skills and knowledge learned in an academic setting to a clinical setting while being supervised and mentored by a clinical supervisor. Interns will develop confidence in their ability to apply learning theory and techniques in counseling situations. Determine appropriate assessments (Diagnostic Assessment & Substance Use Assessments) of clients. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Shadow a Master’s Level Licensed Therapist (LPC) or Master Level Social Worker (MSW) providing psychotherapy service to individuals, couples, family and/or group in a manner consistent with Family & Children’s mission, vision and values.
